I am Her. She is Me: See Her

Updated: Apr 18, 2022

A word of encouragement.

With the media painting pictures of comparison, whether it’s telling black girls to look a certain way or act a certain way, it can be hard to find your place in the world. That is why it is important that we learn to love ourselves for who we are so that we don’t base our worth on what we see in the magazines and on social media.

I'm sure that some of you have asked yourself these questions. Where do I fit in? I'm not like her, I don't dress like them, and I don't look that way. We as women often struggle with comparing ourselves to others but let me tell you a secret.

Sis, just be you, everyone else is taken.

You were made to be you just as you are. You with your coily hair, or with your curly hair, Your light brown skin or your dark brown skin. With your big feet or with your tiny feet. Wide nose or skinny nose, YOU were made to be you, and that's what makes you special. You are a unicorn and unicorns are magical!!! From this day forward, save your energy for the magical stuff and nothing else.

Walk with your head high, a smile on your face and kick in your step, because no matter if others see it, you KNOW, that you're WORTHY.

Say it with me...

I'm ME, unapologetically ME!!!
